This album is 55 minutes long with a 30 minute title
song. You first hear the Atlantic Ocean — a canoe coming
ashore at sunrise. Tchin’s flute music is accompanied with different
sounds
of nature (birds, ducks, crickets, frogs, wind, rain, thunder,
streams) from various parts of North America as Grandfather Sun
travels across
Turtle Island (North America). As the sun sets over the Pacific,
you hear the sounds of this great water. The flute is played in
the traditionally ageless style of Indian love music. Perfect meditation
music.

A first-ever collaboration
of the beautiful haunting sounds of the Native North American
Indian
flute and the melodic, majestic sounds of the South American pan
pipe played by Yovani. Yovani, an outstanding South American
Indian
musician, has played and toured with many well known musicians,
most notable, Paul Simon. Fifty-five minutes of playing time with
24 tracks, accompanied by nature sounds of North and South America,
rattles, guitar, keyboard, some piano, Apache nose flute and rain
sticks. It is perfect for relaxation, visualization or holding
loved ones.

Tchin’s first recording is 46 minutes long, accompanied with
the sounds of nature — birds, wind, rain, etc. There are
four traditional songs from different parts of the country — Northeast
Woodlands, Southwest, Northern Plains and the Great Lakes. The
song
“I Love You Too,” is of dueling flutes. Two young men
are vying for the attention of the same young girl through their
flute playing. There are also two vocables — “Traveling
Song” and “Singing.”
|
Interesting fact: Dancing, singing,
and speaking in Native language was against the law of the United States
Government. Therefore, the 'People' invented vocables and continued to
dance and sing. The “Traveling Song" is traditionally sung
while walking through the woods so as to not to surprise anyone or to
be mistaken for an enemy — a way of announcing “I’m
here. I come in peace.”

Rabbit's Wish for Snow
|
Tchin’s book, “Rabbit's Wish for Snow,” tells us how rabbits
come to look the way they do and why a special tree looks the way
it does...
It was published by Scholastic in 1998 and later it was translated
to French by Scholastic Canada. A fun, lighthearted children's story,
enjoyable for adults too. |
